This thread certainly seems to be a recurring Sakai meme. I'll
interject a couple observations from the past:

* Instructors often want to make sure something got published to a
particular group/section correctly
* Instructors often want to preview actions they've scheduled in the
past
* Instructors often get stuck troubleshooting issues for an individual
student, so sometimes do want to see what that student sees
* We get a number of instructors who accidentally demote themselves to
student roles -- so they're exploring the UI, and getting to Site Info
trying to accomplish some of these tasks.

Some really creative thoughts have come out in the past -- like
TimeMachine like sliders for previewing future events, or the ability
to alias your role or group memberships. I wonder -- is this
interaction an area that's on FLUID's roadmap?
