Hi Trebor,

The thing about Mayfirst is that they seem to offer services for a very technical audience. So while they offer some shared server hosting which  allows a technically-savvy Unix expert to set up a WordPress instance, you’d need to have your own system administrator who was available to address outages, do upgrades and apply patches, handle backups and other quotidian tasks.

So I think we’re looking for a group who either is willing to provide the day-to-day technical support and administration for a site we build, or a hosted WordPress software-as-a-service solution.

Does that make sense? Are there groups you’re familiar with who might be able to provide this kind of service?

We’ll do some digging too, but it sounds like this might take some time to figure out.
