[platform-coop-dev-kit] Hosting and Question

For an example of how this works, Shopify does this quite well:
* Shopify’s home page has one template: https://www.shopify.ca/
* If you click “market”, which is the first level under the home page and serves as a guiding page to let you know of all of their tools available, it uses another template: https://www.shopify.ca/market
* Under this page where it says “promote your product”, they list a few tools people can pick from. Google smart shopping is one of them. This uses yet another template, specifically as a tools page. https://www.shopify.ca/google-shopping
As you can see, because each page has a different functionality and contains different types of content, the form then matches the function.

Hi Trebor,
Regarding the photos on the top of the website, thankfully we have more creative leeway than one might imagine – and they are rooted in the function of the site.
For pages that are purely text based and informational, such as the PCC, home page, benefits pages, vision & principles, these pages have photos.
For pages that are housing a variety of content from the community (community stories, events, blogs, people – the pages that have filters) – those pages do not have photos at the top as to not compete with the photos at the bottom. I have tried putting a photo there in the past, but it overpowers the lovely content and faces of our community members.
Because these pages have two different functions, we can create separate templates for them. However, within these types of pages, it’s best to maintain consistency.
This also means the institute page does count as an informational page, but because of your previous request to keep it photo-less, we’ve gone and not put a photo there. That being said, if you’d like the photo you linked there, we can add it no problem!
Regarding the hosting, I’ll let Ned & Colin answer that.
Thanks,
Cheryl

Subject: Hosting and Question
Hi Cheryl and Colin,
This morning, I spoke with Rylan of CoLab. They seem to be more than willing to host and maintain the site. Once they hear from you about the technical and maintenance needs, they'll be able to offer a quote. We should be able to move quickly on this.
About the website. I really appreciate the way you helped us organize the information on the site! Beyond that, for consistency, are you still planning to add images at the top of these pages?

For the Institute header, we could use an image of the New School such as this<https://www.newschool.edu/pressroom/pressreleases/2015/images/012814_UC_Architectural_000.jpg> (even if we to keep it less visual for that part). The consistency of the site seems to demand it.
