[platform-coop-dev-kit] Program description

Hi Michael,

That link isn’t working for me for some reason. Is there another link I can view the room at?

After working through some of the co-design activities, I think if each group (we’re thinking 6 groups total) had access to a whiteboard or surface they can write/pin stuff on / put sticky notes on would be really great. Is it possible to get 6 small portable whiteboards, or some of those foam core boards? If not, we can probably make do with a lot of those giant sticky notes.

As for lunch, I think it’d be great to get the caterer to come at 11:30 to set up then.

Thanks,
Cheryl

Great, thanks all.

I've booked this for Hirshon Suite, Arnhold Hall, 55 West 13th Street, to run from 12-3. You can view the room here:

https://sites.google.com/newschool.edu/public-programs-toolkit/event-spaces/conference-meeting-rooms?authuser=0\

We'll have 30 minutes setup and breakdown time after as well. I will ask about a whiteboard -- that might be the only thing it lacks. But we could potentially get a mobile one. Otherwise there are those huge sticky wall post-its. We'll provide whiteboard markers/harpies as well.

Question: do you want lunch to be served at 12 or in the middle of the session? Might be easiest to have the caterer come at 11:30 and setup then. That way there's no interruption.

Iris and I are coordinating the lunch.

My best,

Michael

Co-Design Potluck: Designing Tech Together

At a potluck, we all bring something to the table and benefit from others’ contributions. This workshop provides an opportunity for the cooperative community to collectively identify common needs for digital tools and processes that:

- Support the daily operations of cooperatives
- Provide guidance in starting platform co-ops
- Foster the growth of cooperative businesses

Participants will identify shared needs and collaboratively develop designs for labour platform tools that support the needs of the cooperative ecosystem.

The outcome of this workshop will include requirements, design ideas, and a plan for next steps, and will provide an opportunity to realise our shared network of resources and how they might best be applied to achieve our common goals.

Join members of the Inclusive Design Research Centre and our partner co-ops on the Platform Cooperative Development Kit project to contribute your perspectives.

We are seeking participants who are co-op members or those with resources and skills to contribute. Be prepared to discuss the gaps in your organization’s digital toolkit and share the ingredients that make these tools work. We hope this event will connect community members with resources to carry this work forward. We can’t wait to see what you bring to the table!
